Jellyfish wash up on beaches due to a combination of factors, including tidal currents, wind, and shallow water conditions. They are essentially carried by the water, and if the currents move towards the shore, they will be washed up on the beach. Strong winds can also push them onto the shore, and once they are stranded, they are unable to return to the ocean.
