Prop wash from the boat stirs up a blue-green, relatively calm sea. The colourful village sits on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. The green hills give way to clear blue skies with ribbons of white clouds. This weather is a bonus as ferries and boat tours have been shut down due to rough seas and wind. Our hike around the Vesuvius cone and our fast ferry to Positano have gone overboard -- itineraries are just a suggestion ...Italy.

The picture captures a stormy coastline. Waves create white foam, and in the distance, a large hill is visible. Clouds cover most of the sky, but a small opening allows light to break through, with golden rays shining towards the viewer piercing the grey clouds.
