We’re grateful to be able to use Metro State University's GROW-IT Center greenhouse. The greenhouse makes it possible for us to grow the tens of thousands of plants that we need every year. 🌱

Several small pots and seed trays filled with dark potting soil, each marked with a white plastic knife used as a plant label. The labels are written in pink marker and read "Chervil," "Chervil," "Dill," and "Sorrel," with a partially visible fifth label on the right. The pots sit against a pink fabric background.
Next round of seeding: Herbs just getting started — chervil, dill, and sorrel labeled with repurposed plastic knives.

March is the Time to Start Seeds Indoors
#mgnv #seedstarting #vegetablegardening If you like to be able to choose exactly the vegetables you want to eat and grow in your garden, March is the time to start your seeds indoors.
A seedling tray filled with broccoli babies and behind it is a tray filled with onions growing in red Solo cups. Out of frame are several more trays filled with more onions, cabbage, lettuce, celery, and various flowers and herbs. All the trays are on my dining table.
Nights are still in the 20s (ºF) here so it's too cold to let these plant babies stay outside overnight. 🌱
I'm sick of carrying all these trays back and forth every day 😆

Several small cosmos seedlings growing in soil blocks in a tray under grow lights.
A pink sea shell cosmos flower growing in my flower garden last summer.
I really liked these pink cosmos that I grew last year so I planted some again. They only took a couple days to germinate. 🌱

The indoor growing shelf. Three tiers with grow lights. Top shelf: hearty greens, brassicas, pansies, cilantro, and bells of Ireland. Middle shelf: lavender, parsley, chamomile, marjoram, fenugreek, basil, tomatoes, eggplant, and bell peppers. Bottom shelf: water forget-me-not, onions (red, white, yellow, green, shallots), sweet potatoes (for slips), and dill.
Productive second day of spring starting herbs, bell peppers, and another round of hearty greens, making more soil blocks, and getting the indoor grow zone organized.

What in the world is this Mickey Mouse nonsense? 😆
Trimmed roots off these cheap tubers & I'll be keeping them separate from the other Dahlias
I'll be able to keep the cuttings together though, so if I get good ones, I might just give the OG tubers away

2 packages of dahlia tubers from Dollarama You need to be careful with commerical purchased dahlias and gall, so I'll be growing these away from my other tubers which came from my flowers or reputable local sources
I know I said I was done but that orangey lemon is just so sunshiny!!
Figured the white would be a good pair for all the coloured dahlias I have going
Look, it's really about the dahlias I didn't buy 😅
