Do you keep putting potting up off? Limited on space?

Introducing the new slim, vertical, square-format 1-liter pot, where your seedlings can develop strong roots in a compact footprint.

Ok, all the pepper seedlings. Up potted the second sowing today into solo cups - the third sowing is still in the one water jug. Some of the tinier seedlings I've left two together in one cup.

So far of the pepper seeds I started in Feb (2 seeds each of variety), I have 2 plants for 9/12. 1 plant for 2/12. And the sweet Bonnets I had to try again.

A black tray holding several 4 and 6-cell inserts (which are pink, purple, and black) sits on a wire shelf under bright lights

The inserts contain the seeds of several species of native plants in seed starting mix, topped with vermiculite (all of which are labelled with white water-resistant plant markers)

Species include pearly everlasting, foxglove beardtongue, Canada (wild) columbine, Canada (showy) tick trefoil, bottle gentian, Culver's root, boneset, cardinal flower, pale purple coneflower, golden Alexanders, Canada goldenrod, grey goldenrod, and prairie smoke

All seeds have been artificially cold stratified for several weeks and will now take at least several weeks more (and up to several months) to germinate

Lots and lots (and lots and lots) of waiting...

I know we're supposed to direct sow beans & peas but I tend to forget about watering them. With that being said I started some & in cells & it seems to be working out. ☺️ #patiogarden #growingbeansandpeas #seedstarting

YOU GUYS LOOK AT MY BABIES!! I’ve never grown plants from seed so I’m so happy with their progress! Lavender smells so good even this tiny!! Salvia, candytuft, scabiosa and asters round out the group! #seedstarting #seedlings #gardening #plants

This is why I like to plant zinnias. I seeded these on Sunday and here we are four days later! I also see some teensy petunia seedlings emerging today!

Garden seeds are planted, the second group of indoor microgreens are seeded and the indoor greens are baby greens. Feeling very green with all these greens and super excited for this growing season.

Osteospermum ecklonis

I really love these beautiful annuals

This is a pastel orange mixture

I started this 9 cell and another 12

I dont recommend silicone cell trays they're very hard to clean and sanitize but I ran out of empty plastic 😅

It greatly amuses me how much African Daisy seeds look like bugs 😄

I've used plastic from empty soil bags to create the snails (I made 3, all with corn) and popped it into a water container like I was using for winter sowing

This one is half and half broom corn (sorgum) and ornamental corn (fiesta)

The other 2 have popcorn in them

I don't grow sweet corn because we have a lot of young people around here who grow it and sell it inexpensively for some pocket money, and I'd rather support them

Homegrown popcorn is absolutely worth growing!! The taste is incredible & it's fun to grow

Fine! I'll try a seed snail
(Read: I am out of indoor growing room)

I've never successfully started corn indoors, but a friend of mine swears by it, so no harm in trying

Since corn doesn't like having its roots disturbed, I'm hoping this will be a good solution

Several small pots and seed trays filled with dark potting soil, each marked with a white plastic knife used as a plant label. The labels are written in pink marker and read "Chervil," "Chervil," "Dill," and "Sorrel," with a partially visible fifth label on the right. The pots sit against a pink fabric background.

Nights are still in the 20s (ºF) here so it's too cold to let these plant babies stay outside overnight. 🌱

I'm sick of carrying all these trays back and forth every day 😆
