Today, 75 peacekeepers from 🇸🇰 Slovakia based in Sector 4 were awarded UN medals for their #service4peace in Cyprus.

Their responsibility is to patrol & monitor activity along 65 km of the #bufferzone on the east coast of the island. We thank them for their dedication and for #serving4peace. 🌍🕊️

This afternoon, top United Nations official in #Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, welcomed the Ambassador of #Italy, Antonella Cavallari for a briefing on #UNFICYP's peacekeeping efforts on the island. She also met some of our Italian 🇮🇹 UNPOL officers #serving4peace. 🕊️ #A4P

This morning, #UNFICYP's acting Force Commander, Brigadier Patrick Allen, welcomed Major General Robert Sholto James Hedderwick from the #UK 🇬🇧 for a briefing on the Mission's peacekeeping efforts on the island. Hedderwick also met some of our British peacekeepers #serving4peace on the island. #A4P

Today #UNPOL Adviser, Faisal Shahkar, visited the #bufferzone in Nicosia and met #UNFICYP peacekeepers based in Sector 2. During his visit, Mr Shahkar also met our female UNPOL officers and members of the Mission's police component #serving4peace in #Cyprus. #A4P

This week, #UNFICYP peacekeepers welcomed to the UN Protected Area a group of 33 #UK 🇬🇧 parliamentarians. The group was briefed on the history of the old Nicosia airport and met with British peacekeepers #serving4peace in #Cyprus.
