Indeed, we observed a #SexDimorphic remodeling of #macrophage function with #aging ⏳: female-specific decrease in Zymosan #phagocytosis and increase in #glycolytic output! We also identified 2 genes, #Rps6ka3 and #Magt1 as likely mediators of the female-specific #phagocytosis phenotype. 6/13

Together with undergraduate #OliviaWhite, we asked whether we could observe #sexdimorphic gene expression in mouse #macrophages from different niches. We curated publicly available RNA-seq datasets, as well as generated some new in-house RNA-seq datasets on #peritoneal macrophages and #BMDMs. 2/7
