At Minnewaska, a lone hiker stands on a sunlit gray cliff above a forest of rust-orange and deep green, with distant ridges fading under a wide blue sky streaked with bright clouds.

One #library book returned, three more checked out today

There’s something charming (and fragrant 😐) about #books as old as me, an elder Millenial

Today I learned the ridge I live next to is a “Silurian conglomerate”

A photo of the Shawangunk ridge taken from the Bashakill wetland showing some green trees at lower elevations but on the higher parts of the ridge the trees are completely lacking leaves.

The spongy moths are so awful. Up in the hills the trees are completely defoliated. I looked all along the ridge tops with binoculars and even the white pines that rise above the deciduous trees look dead. 😿
