Rock covered with a pale green thallus and dotted with several dozen flat, round, black fruiting bodies.
Disc lichen I found in New Paltz, New York, last September. Not sure what it is but possibly Porpidia (subsimplex?) or Buellia erubescens. Latter genus contains parasitic members, apparently. Would be grateful for ID suggestions. Substrate is quartz conglomerate. #lichen #fungi #mohonk
