My modular Sagratino shawl, a shallow V of hexagon motifs in three slow-change color ways. I don’t remember which Noro yarn this was, but it’s one with more subtle color variations than the typical Noro. The hexagons are knitted from the outside to the center, and they each have six eyelet curves spiraling into the center. The sides of the shawl’s V are three hexagons wide.

The six balls of Noro yarn that went into the shawl. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to turn one or more tags to show the name of the yarn, but you can read that it is a blend of 50% cotton, 35% silk, and 15% wool. There are two balls of each color way. From left to right, they are shades of blue, pinks and purples with a tiny bit of blue and green, and shades of mossy green.

I have so many #shawls that I fell into decision paralysis this week. But here’s an old Sagratino shawl I should really pull out more in the fall. The pattern calls for wool fingering yarn, but I fell for this thicker Noro cotton blend.

A shawl is draped over a wooden picket fence that has a red leaved vine crawling on it. The shawl is V shaped and striped with alternating colors of heathered, dark orange and deep purple. The way in which the shawl is draped highlights the point of the V, which is the widest part of the fabric and lays down the center of the image slightly towards the right. It evokes Halloween season in New England.

#showmeyourknits week 53 is #shawls and I’ve made many. Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West made with Cryptic Hollow Fibers fingering weight in Astral Sea (loved this yarn I got at the 1st Fiber Witch Festival) and Malabrigo Yarn Mechita in Paprika. Love the drape and feel of these yarns.

Finished my Brécilien shawl. I ended up using a different base because that’s all I had on hand, so I dyed the edging black to blend it better with the gradient. I finished at row 190 with a picot bind off. Measures: 65” x 37”. Total yarn used: 224 grams / 964 yards. #knitting #laceknitting #shawls
