Picture of my sketchbook which will be featuring pencil sketches of Shaymin in various ways for the rest of the images on this post. This image features two pages of anatomy sketch practice with Shaymin's Sky Form, featuring a few eyes, several legs and shaymin feet, one body/limb segments, and leaves that are present on of Shaymin's neck. Here I was learning how anatomy worked, and was trying to figure out why things never quite looked the way I'd imagined them. This managed to help out a lot for trying to get more than just a head frame.
More sketches, this time featuring shaymin in all of it's fullbody glory. Not much is notable here, besides the bottom left sketch of shaymin flying. Trying to figure out how to sketch with a more dynamic pose was tricky, but I like how it turned out. The rest of the stuff shown is just ideas and doodles, no comment as far as those are concerned.
Another picture of some Shaymin sketches (as well as an intrusive shaymin plush covering the left page), featuring several Sky Form Shaymin's detailing keyframes of an animation for Shaymin performing the move Tackle. Only two of the sketches are finished, the third only having about half of the outline completed. The images in this post are mostly featured in chronological order, besides this image which was actually the most recent of the four. I've definitely gotten somewhat more comfortable with drawing shaymin by this point, but especially more so of my own artstyle, which has been a massive hurdle for me to deal with when trying to get into drawing. I'm not close to being all the way there yet, but progress is being made. As for the actual sketches themselves, it feels odd because for some reason, unlike a lot of art I've seen featuring Shaymin, I feel like I tend to draw shaymin anatomy in a fashion a lot more akin to a deer instead of a more common pet-styled fashion I imagined I would have adopted. It's hard to say for sure while I have as little practice as I do.
The final of the four images presented (third drawn chronologically), this sketch page having some color unlike the rest, which were in pencil. The left page features a few Shaymin. One is properly complete, featuring a Shaymin idling with it's tongue out. Another is incomplete, and features a shaymin snoozing on the ground. The page features a few other sketches of eyes, the ears, some inconspicuous sunglasses, and another doodle and some more leaves. The right page features a work-in-progress shaymin, in Land Form unlike most the rest of the sketches, resting in a flower patch on a particular mountaintop. Having color is a much needed boon towards making these sketches embody what it is I want to express with my drawings, so that's very nice. The right image is rather incomplete, mostly because I don't yet have the patience to draw enough flowers to fill in the piece. But eventually I'll get there! Besides that, I'm just really liking what I've done with these so far. Not because they're actually good or anything lol, but the visual improvement I'm able to witness is a great counterbalance to trying to program stuff to little result comparatively. #ShayminDay will soon be over in Japan, but I'll be doing some shenanigans tomorrow anyways. So I'd like to throw in some Shaymin pencil sketches that I've been working on for a bit. I'm still learning how to draw, so having something to want to draw often helps with trying to learn a lot lmao.
