My dad assembling campaign signs that read "Vote Nicole Zelen District 1 Supervisor" with the American Flag
My husband giving a thumbs up after installing my first yard sign!
#Sustainability, #upcycling, & #shoppinglocal are important to me! For my campaign signs, I chose Masonite over plastic & worked with a family-owned Pittsburgh printing business. My dad helped with assembly using recycled building materials. My husband helped with the mallet-swinging. ☺️ #grassroots

I want to add:
#convenience is not a good reason to sacrifice quality of taste.
#habit is not a good reason to assume the best deals are from the big companies.
#comfortofthefamiliar is a trap sometimes, depriving you of new possibilities.
#shoppinglocal is resistance against billionaires’ power.

My favorite thing of 2024 was deciding to not only start a business selling my sewing creations, but to repurpose discarded/secondhand bedsheets, clothes, fabric scraps, yarn, etc; into new unique things. Here's to #sewingsustainability, #shoppinglocal and #upcycling being the norm in 2025 🥳
After checking out the repairs completed at the Roycroft Campus my team and I stopped by Left Coast Taco on Elm Street in East Aurora to check out the renovations it did with an Erie County, NY Storefront Revitalization Grant. Owners Chelsea and Nathan Root transformed its exterior, making it much more noticeable with a new covered patio and doors. After finishing a great lunch at Left Coast Taco we then walked down the street to check out The Bookworm & BW Gifts LLC, a book and gift store that also received an Erie County Storefront Revitalization Grant to fix needed exteriors and roof repairs. Both Left Coast Taco and the Bookworm are wonderful locally owned small businesses that make our community better. Please support our small businesses by #ShopingSmall and #ShoppingLocal this holiday season.
