A small shorebird swimming left to right sitting high in the gray colored water, with a slender neck and thin sharp bill with a rusty neck and nape and a brownish gray cap. It's back is mottled dark brown and reddish brown while it's breast and belly are mottled white and gray.
A surprise rare visitor to Chicago yesterday! Red-necked Phalarope at River Park, Chicago 5.19.2025. Well out of its normal coastal habitat.
