Thanks to @forbes.com for featuring Brady’s #ShowGunSafety initiative to make safer firearm behaviors visible and familiar including on the screen.

Congratulations to the All the Empty Rooms team on your Oscar.
Telling these stories on the screen makes a difference, and it keeps the epidemic of gun violence in America — the #1 killer of our kids — front and center.
Proud to see the Brady pin on stage. #ShowGunSafety
Eight kids each day are unintentionally injured or killed due to an unsecured firearm.
We have an opportunity to shift norms and shape what happens at home by changing what we show on the screen.
Read my latest Substack to learn about a pivotal scene in Scream 7, and our work to #ShowGunSafety
When the first Scream came out in 1996, car crashes were the #1 killer of kids in America.
Today, guns are — in part because they're often not stored safely.
That's why the portrayal of a gun safe in Scream 7 is so important.
#SafeStorageSavesLives #ShowGunSafety
In Scream 7, along with the usual jump scares and plot twists, there's an important safety lesson: firearms locked securely in a safe.
When films depict secure firearm storage, they are setting a standard for what safety looks like. #ShowGunSafety

In Scream 7, survival isn’t just about luck, it’s about preparation.
When films depict firearms locked in a safe, it’s not a random choice: they are setting a standard for what safety looks like.
I explain why this matters in my @usatoday.com op-ed ⬇️ #ShowGunSafety
The fight to end gun violence doesn't start and stop in Washington.

Big congrats to Noah Wyle//The Pitt and Keri Russell//The Diplomat on their SAG wins.
Both shows model responsible depictions of firearms and gun violence.
Change doesn’t rest only with Congress. What we normalize on screen matters, and it saves lives. #ShowGunSafety
Brady's Senior Advisor on Culture Change Matt Littman with actor David Oyelowo, director of American Solitaire
We were honored to join an important conversation w/ the cast & crew of #AmericanSolitaire, a new film exploring the United States’ deep cultural connection to guns through the story of a wounded veteran.
Never underestimate the power of storytelling to save lives.

Studies show that audiences adopt behaviors and attitudes of their favorite on-screen characters. Hollywood can save lives by modeling secure gun storage.
Big thanks to @hbo.bsky.social for working to #ShowGunSafety! We were proud to meet with them this past year. Learn more at showgunsafety.org.
This is the best! Our #ShowGunSafety team has been proud to meet with HBO about depicting gun safety on screen. They did well on White Lotus, and now this is another success!

Excited to see The Pitt honored with 13 Emmy nominations.
This high-stakes drama didn’t just captivate audiences, it modeled responsible storytelling by weaving @bradyunited.org #ShowGunSafety principles into its season arc.
A perfect example of entertainment driving culture change.
📺 Watch my interview with Grey’s Anatomy actor Jason George on WJLA about simple steps Hollywood and all of us can take to save lives including demonstrating safe storage of firearms #ShowGunSafety
It was tough to let go of this season of #ThePitt.
The show was a masterclass in the spur of the moment calls healthcare professionals must make in response to a mass shooting. It was also a portal to finding humanity in the absolute darkest of moments.
Thank you, #NoahWyle + #HBO. #ShowGunSafety
This week, #WhiteLotus captured a process Americans know all too well: Knowing where the exits are at all times, and being ready to “book it” away from gun violence at a moment’s notice. #CarrieCoon did a masterful job of evoking the fear that we should never know #ShowGunSafety
The first season of #ThePitt isn't over yet, but this teaser has me very interested in watching season 2.
The show creator has said next season will take place around July 4th—the time of the year with the most ER visits, and a peak time for gun violence. A great opportunity to #ShowGunSafety.
Our #ShowGunSafety team has proudly met with the studios behind these shows and more. We launched our campaign 3 years ago after the Uvalde shooting, and momentum continues to grow. I’m energized to see how we’ll continue to make an impact to change culture and save lives.
I’ve been quite bullish in sharing how major shows have been embracing @bradyunited.org’s #ShowGunSafety principles. White Lotus, The Pitt, Severance, and Paradise have all recently addressed gun violence or gun safety. It’s clear Brady’s work in Hollywood is making a difference.
Grateful to Producers Guild of America for hosting @bradyunited.org's #ShowGunSafety team today for a conversation with members currently making TV or film projects with guns.
Together, we can change the way guns and gun violence are portrayed on screen to create a safer firearm culture in the US.
Last year, @bradyunited.org's #ShowGunSafety team met with HBO, and this week I was excited to see gun safety on screen in The White Lotus!
In the episode, a guard pulls a gun from a locked drawer and later it goes missing after being left unlocked — showing the importance of secure gun storage.
Depictions of firearms in entertainment shape public behavior. At the #2024firearmresearchconf, JJ Janflone showcased our #ShowGunSafety campaign, which collaborates with Hollywood to promote safe, responsible portrayals of gun use.
