A large patch of turkey tail mushrooms sprouting on a rotting log. The visible bit of the log is dark grey with smaller green patches of moss because it’s wet from a recent rain. The larger turkey tail mushrooms are curved, almost ruffled at the edges, and striped with variegated green colors. There are some smaller mushrooms sprouting above them with darker brown, tan, and green stripes. This photograph was taken by Taralei Griffin at Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky in May 2025.
