Looking up at entrance to Gawthorpe Hall in Lancashire. Blue sky overhead. Pillars either side of the large curved doorway with three levels of large windows above (a sign of wealth...so much glass). Redesigned in 1850s by Sir Charles Barry (of Houses of Parliament fame) in collab with Pugin and the J.G.Grace interior decorators (from Yorkshire...commissioned in Lancashire gasp!). Well worth a visit. Interiors and the textile collection are something else!
