Curious—Is there a kidlit pitchfest going on now? I'm still getting my bearings here. Found Kidlit pitch events starter pack but don't see any kidlit pitchfests other than #skypitch for picture books and #kidlitGN for graphic novels. I'm probably not looking in the right place...
This was what I was trying to do with #skypitch, focus on PBs as a trial and see how it went, and if there was room for YA/MG for a later event. But I am leaning toward staying w/ picture books. #kidlitchat
Right. I think our #skypitch trial run here was decent, there were 700 pitches, but that was pre-election, so I expect a different vibe next time. The glaring issues were the number of stray likes, and the 2 or 3 AI images. which wasn't too bad considering there were hundreds of pitches. #kidlitchat

That's good news! I'm actually working on a manuscript for the pitch I posted during #skypitch. Yes, I know, I put the cart before the horse. But the horse is now where it belongs. :-) #kidlitchat

1) I followed your links to #BluePit and #SkyPitch and see several "photo album" style pitches. Are those seen as annoying attempts to cheat the intent, or savvy?

We held #skypitch last month as a proof of concept to see if a pitch event is viable here! It had a huge response, and a few agents participated. Interested to see how agencies respond to the influx this week.
I can't wait to participate in #Skypitch once it comes back around.

One thing that I’m brainstorming a solution for is the volume of non-agent/editor likes pitches got in our trial event. Hoping to reduce that number in future. #skypitch
