A confidential source at the royal palace says she has cause to know the royal ball this October is a Fake. "Her grace has no intention of picking a husband at the ball. She'd rather spend her time with a dirty pig farmer than at court. Nobles scheming are what put her right to the throne in jeopardy in the first place. She doesn't know who she can trust." The source also stated the Grand Duchess Elsebeth leaves the palace in disguise to meet her secret paramour. "No one knows who he is, but you know what? We just want her to be happy." The palace could not be reached for comment, but the editor received a fruit basked from His Royal Majesty.
2nd: So who is the mystery man?
Those closest to the Grand Duchess were tight lipped about who Her Grace was seeing, or where. The royal Master of Horse, Alex, soundly thumped the three reporters who asked, and his wife, Gele, chased them from the grounds brandishing a pan like she knew how to use it. When asked, courtier and local sleeze, Jon Ritter von Tockler, smiled like he knew a secret but wouldn't tell. Silberkirke is abuss wondering who this mystery man is...and why the ball is still going as planned. "The Archduke keeps his word, and the succession is at stakes," Franz, brother to the sovereign, said with a smile so slippery it required a caution sign. "Besides, the invitations have already gone out." Franz then rubbed his hands together and cackled, surely regretting not having a mustache to twirl.

I have a Cinderella retelling that I love, and I opened the folder to see if it would get me out of my writing slump. I'd forgotten about this #UnhingedPit post I did.
