A very deep Main Garden Bed that I probably should have put an access path through but hindsight is 20/20. Behind it, a short fence & mulch path leads off the sidewalk to the left where a pair of trellis plants hide our productive long raised beds for veggies love. Big pots and self-watering bucket planters dot different spotsz
A view of the other side of the yard, where an Archway connects two shorter raised beds over a planted stepping stone path that splits to the left and right and goes around the edges. A long Freyr trellis and grow bags with a mulch path between and a much bigger main raised beds also for veggies. Potted fruit plants here and there. Pollinator Garden by the garage, Berry Garden down the fence, Rain Garden out of sight below the deck railing at bottom of photo, and a stepping stone path back between the garages where we have our rain butts and cold frames when not in use.
Early spring in the backyard beds just to prove that we really have 0% lawn and actual paths since they disappear when the plants fill in & become our magical little urban jungle.

Behind the weird tulips, a bountiful spreading clump of delicate sunshine yellow daffodils.
In contrast to beautiful perennalizing tulips I shared, here are “freaks & geeks” remains of Double Early ‘Exotic Emperor’, also planted in 2021, since I don’t give special treatment or fertilizer. Mix in fine with these petite Daffodils though.

Burgundy finely cut foliage with yellow green stems emerges from woody stems eventually becoming a chartreuse foliage ‘Lemony Lace’ Elderberry that fades to green later in summer and has fall colors too. Plus flowering buds and fruit, though the birds usually come for the buds long before we get fruit.
