A big thank you to the Greening Team at #Colchester City Council who've done a brilliant job in tidying up the out of control weed growth in the council owned Osborne Street Car park after we flagged it as an issue.

Not wholly 'completed' yet.
We don't want to nitpick - and we're sure they'll get picked up on as part of 'snagging' but there are two posts without signs. A post with a sign on the pavement, a waste bin balanced on sand bags and some abandoned roadsigns.

The weeds that were making it almost impossible to use the cycle racks in the Vineyard Street car park have now been cut back after we reported and escalated the problem with the city council.

2/2 We cleared weed growth from the Eastern side of North Bridge and litter picked. Others got stuck in to planting some new plants in the planters, cutting back shrubbery road sweeping, removing graffiti and cutting back shrubbery.

For the past few years there's been a damaged street lighting column outside the Victoria Inn on North Station Road.

Yesterday members and friends of the Civic Society took part in a Community Day of Action in Castle Park, volunteering their time and talents to repaint bins, pick litter and give some of the interpretation boards a bit of TLC....
