I had a GREAT first #Smofcon. Conrunning is about creating temporary alternate realities, and so too was this con - it was great to see friends and talk about our shared visions. The days of US Smofcons are over for a bit, we'll see if I can make it to Lisbon next year, but I had a great time.

Closed the bar at #Smofcon after a great weekend. The future of conrunning, especially for Worldcon, is bright, I think, and I've had so many good panels and meetings and conversations since Friday. Thank you to the community, and when's the next con?

Last trip of the year, off to #Smofcon in Stockholm. Looking forward to a weekend of learning, planning and hanging out with awesome people! (And got to DUB in good time, despite the Cloudflare related Bolt outage. Free Now doesn't seem to use them, so resilient options!

Landed on-time, on the last leg home now. Utterly exhausted. Overall a very worthwhile trip, but too much "making our own fun" at the con. If I'd turned up without knowing anyone, rather than almost everyone, would have been a very, very different experience, I think. #Smofcon

5th #Smofcon panel didn't happen, but the chat was very pleasant, and 4 out of 5 panels happening ain't bad. Some lunch and more chatting before beginning the long, long journey home.

Managed to moderate a panel on repairing the reputation of the Hugo Awards at #Smofcon in a productive and collegial way. All about communication, transparency and planning ahead, really, he said, oversimplifying a bunch of things...

I don't know whether it's because this year has just had *so* much in it, or if I'm just rather tired right now, but the fact I'm flying to Seattle tomorrow for a few days (for #Smofcon) just doesn't seem to have sunk in properly. New city for me!
