Basically preconfigured XMPP with federation and e.g. voice calls out of the box. I wonder how moderation works on XMPP though, can you safely federate without it turning into the Matrix experience.

Just spent 6 hours trying to figure out why #Snikket uploads weren't working. Just figured out that my #nginx #reverseproxy had run out of disk space so the uploads didn't have enough room to get cached before being forwarded on to the #xmpp server.

Saw someone mention #snikket earlier and got curious. All set up with functional audio and video calling. Now to convince my better half to get on board. We currently use Telegram for messaging but I prefer control when I can get it.
