Soren's hair lightened significantly, and her skin turned an ashy gray.
I've gone back and forth with how much scarring she has on her back from where the light tired to split through. Lately I'm leaning most towards "it lasted a while, but faded over time."

I rewrote the order of events - in the game you fight the Endsinger, speak to Meteion, see the shower of golden light, fight Zenos, and then the transporter falls into your hand.
For Soren, Zenos comes FIRST and THEN Meteion arrives...🎇⬇️

Once she's attuned to aether currents, you'll almost always find her on her Rose Lanner. He's been her travel companion since very early. She also favors her Cavalry Drake from her time in S Thanalan.

Soren didn't appreciate how it works, i.e. it went over her head when she started traveling. As such, it doesn't bother her, and by the time she DID have a grasp on what it entails, it was a case of "well, it's normal to me NOW."
She uses it sparingly for prohibitively long ⬇️
I've always written Soren as having something going on with lightning-aspected aether. She's the Song in the Monsoon, the kid who you'd find sitting in the pouring rain staring up at the bright lightning sky with wonder and peace and joy in her eyes. Without Azem, she has poor control over magics, and most of her spells wind up being lightning-based. Only in the WoL timeline does she master Black Mage and Astrologian; the former largely granted through a soulstone from one of her reflections. That man - Soren - came through from a voidgate in a similar manner to many characters we've seen (especially after post-EW), and V'kahzu met him in southern Thanalan. When she borrowed his name as an alias, she had no idea (and only starts to suspect in post-EW) that it was just herself she was borrowing from all along. File under: things the writer wrote in like, early ShB and had NO idea what EW was going to provide. Back to Heritage Found. This zone and much of its lore around the levin has gotten me thinking about what Soren's deal really is. Is she skewed towards lightning? Deficient and thus drawn to it? A simple affinity? I don't really know, and that's okay. All that matters is she feels it, and feels the urge to bring back out her staff and let the aetheric charge flow through her. She's a bit manic upon arrival, and it's hard to tell whether it's from the train ride or from the environment at first.

She turns to DNC during HW after the Vault bc she needs /something/ different, but has lost her footing.
