Yes #SouthWalney is a fab place c/o @cumbriawildlife.bsky.social
Walney is about 11 miles long & *very* narrow, so it's really easy to adapt your walk. Add in an extra day to visit
@cumbriawildlife.bsky.social's #SouthWalney reserve & see if you can spot some seals! #KingCharlesIIIEnglandCoastPath #KCIIIECP #NationalTrails
Here's a great pupdate to end your week on β we now have FOUR grey seal pups at #SouthWalney! π
They've managed to keep themselves well con-seal-ed, but our marine team recently managed to capture all of them on camera πΈπ

We're celebrating 10 years of grey seal pups at our #SouthWalney reserve, alongside a record breaking count of 563 seals! π
Make sure you stay off beaches where seals are hauled out and enjoy watching them from afar, using binoculars or field scopes. π

A screenshot from a webcam, showing a pebbly foreshore with some driftwood and white sea birds, the sea (relatively blue in the sunshine) and distant hills the other side of the water. On the middle left is a yellow circle added around a dark shape in the water, which is the top of a seal's head as it pops up to breathe.
Seal spotted! This is a screenshot from the #SouthWalney web cam. The still image doesn't give as many clues as the stream, where the movement helps to clearly distinguish a seal (popping up from below) from something drifting (on the surface) or a seabird (landing or taking off).
First step check the #SouthWalney seal web cam. I haven't spotted any seals yet today but the sun is shining and the sea is blue.
