Hearst Castle. San Simeon, CA (1919-1947). Julia Morgan (1872-1957), architect and engineer who designed more than 700 buildings in California, was hired by William Randolph Hearst, publishing tycoon, to design and build his castle in CA. The castle is a mix of Spanish Colonial Revival and Mediterranean Revival styles.
This painting by contemporary artist Linda Blevins shows the castle, a blue-pink sky and a mix of palm trees and other vegetation.
