And finally from the #ScamperDownTheSomersetCoast #PortisheadToWestonSuperMare leg. Eternal repose. Perfect peace.

When you sleep, sleep well and tomorrow may you be grateful for another day....

The winner for wonderful windows (exterior category) from the #PortisheadToWestonSuperMare leg of the #ScamperDownTheSomersetCoast is #StAndrewClevedon. This wonderful cruciform church is a tutorial in the evolution of windows over 500 years. Beautiful too #WindowsOnWednesday

The #MouseFavouritePhoto from #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset just had to be this window. Something about the sharp outlines and colour of the stone in the warm sunshine had Mouse smiling

How's that for a hagioscope?

(No. It's not lepers)

Perhaps if hoomans were the hunted and not the hunter these would be the kinds of trophy heads you would find on the walls...

Former corbels, perhaps C15, now #Spolia #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #FridaysFacesInStone

Seemingly and unusually sporting a jet engine cover (if you've ever been to an aeronautical museum you'll know what Mouse mean) the font of #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset is in the style of C14. Octagonal basin and base, large cylindrical stem. Needs a Jacobean hat #FontsOnFriday

There's a kind of Simpsonesque quality to this beak head. It looks like it's just eaten some shorts
Above abacus, right of chancel arch (as facing) #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #FridaysFacesInStone #RomanesqueRiday (thank you Rufus)

It's late but it's never too late to enjoy #RomanesqueRiday (thank you Rufus). When you consider the statues of classical Rome a thousand years earlier these Norman Romanesque faces seem so primitive... and yet they have personality #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #FridaysFacesInStone

Mouse do like to stick up for the ever so 'umble gate. This one leads to the Poet's Walk from the south of #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #Thursgate #IronworkThursday

Normally a well designed and located #Lychgate will perfectly frame its church. This one though seems to perfectly frame the vicar's car #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #Thursgate

Victorian this may be. Of diminutive proportions this may be. But it's beautifully carved and a wonderful slice of #Lychgate loveliness #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #Thursgate

North of nave. Adjacent to crossing arch #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #AdoorableThursday

This week's vestigial #DoorInMidAir. Once accessing the rood loft, now left redundant and dangling

(the metal winch bears a projector screen. Even the Almighty comes in digital form now)

North of nave #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #DoorwayThursday #AdoorNoMore

Curious (but pointed) geometry to head. The label and stops were definitely not born with the rest of the doorway

South of chancel #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset

Priests door. Rather roughly carved chamfered segmental pointed doorway housing a relatively modern door right down to the fittings #AdoorableThursday

(It isn't narrower at the bottom, that's just Mouse's shonky camera work)

It may be late but it's never too late to celebrate some doors. South porch door #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset

Pointed door with wide plain fillets, large bottom ledge and studs set in a highly moulded pointed doorway with label. Mouse say "Rather lovely" #AdoorableThursday

Detail of the painted canopy. Mouse like this a lot #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #Woodensday

East of south transept #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #WindowsOnWednesday #Woodensday

Beautiful little altar under a wonderfully painted canopy and C13 window. This is a little oasis of calm in what is otherwise a chaotic plastic-toy filled kid's area (not complaining, just saying)

Late C15. The face has been altered to give it a kind of knowing cheeky grin. A happy knight?

C14 south transept, south elevation #StAndrewClevedon #Somerset #TraceryTuesday

Fine late decorated-style 4-light window with cusped #Ogee lights, label and square, hollow stops. Tell-tale horizontal lines in the surrounding masonry speak of replacement or resetting
