Two days after they started, Middlesex finishes off Midland Park, 3-2, in NJSIAA Group 1 final to give Blue Jays GMC record 7th state title It took them three days, but it was well worth it for the Middlesex baseball team. The Blue Jays won their GMC-record seventh NJSIAA state championship Monday afternoon, beating Midland Park in the state Group 1 Final at the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex in Bergen County, as heard live on Central Jersey Sports Radio. The Blue Jays got three runs in the third, and needed all of them, hanging on for a 3-2 win.

Middlesex-Midland Park Group 1 final – along with Group 2 and 3 title games – moved to North Jersey due to field conditions in Hamilton The last three NJSIAA public school state championship games are moving up to North Jersey. Each of the past three seasons, Colonia has stormed to a North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 title. The Patriots have been the best team in their playoff section for a while now, and even if they're down, they're never out. Last year, they added GMC Tournament champions to their season resume, and again on the sectional crown.

Shots won’t fall for Rutgers Prep; Argonauts fall 86-55 to St. Rose in Non-Public South B final If you sat down to watch the Non-Public South B boys' final Monday night after watching the girls' final that preceded it, your might have expected to see Phil Connors and Punxatawney Phil. Just like the Argonaut girls, who just couldn't seem to sink a shot and had so many tries rim out, the same thing happened to the boys, just in a higher-scoring game, as third-seed Rutgers Prep lost to top-seed St.

Rutgers Prep girls go for 4th straight Non-Public North B title when Argonauts play Gloucester Catholic down in Jackson Jackson Liberty High School was good to Rutgers Prep last year. So was Seneca the year before that, and Long Branch back in 2022. The Rutgers Prep girls' basketball team hasn't lost a sectional final since COVID at any of those three venues, and Mary Klinger's 2024-25 team doesn't plan to start now. Monday evening, they'll play in their fifth straight Non-Public South B title game - the first in that stretch was in 2020, when they fell to Trenton Catholic - as the second-seeded Argonauts take on top-seed Gloucester Catholic at 5 pm, in a game you can hear on Central Jersey Sports Radio.

It’s a GMC-Somerset clash when Monroe visits Hillsborough in Central Jersey Group 4 final The Hillsborough girls' basketball team reached the Somerset County final this year, for the first time since 2006, falling to Gill St. Bernard's. The Monroe girls' basketball team reached the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament final this year, falling to St. Thomas Aquinas. So, essentially, since they're also the top two seeds in their section, Saturday's Central Jersey Group 4 final - which will feature the Falcons and Raiders - could be billed as a battle for public school supremacy and bragging rights between Somerset County and the GMC.
