The all-women steam crew standing in front of United States Plywood Corporation Steam Locomotive 11, which is now on static display at the Snoqualmie Depot. Sue herself is on the top right. Engineer Sue S., Fireman Mary S., Conductor Rose W., Brakeman Kathy H., and Car Attendant Jayne W.

This design was both inspired by and requested by some of our own historic artifacts! ;)
Sue is one of our long-time volunteers - she was even engineer on the Museum's first all-women steam crew in September 1987!

On this day, 9th February 1931, the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway ended its original passenger services 🚂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The 2ft 6in gauge line survived as freight only until 1956, when volunteers stepped in to save the railway for future generations.

The A10 Neilson No.7 - built in 1866, worked the Townsville Harbour Board Railway, scrapped in 1960. It was a rare vertical‑boiler locomotive, and was the first engine to cross the Albert River.

SP MT-1 4314 in Sacramento, CA The notes with the collection say: on Saturday, October 14, 1939, Southern Pacific (SP) 4314 was in Sacramento, CA. SP 4314 was an ALCo 4-8-2, SP Class MT-1. Reportedly: it was built by ALCo in 1924, builders number 65384. It was vacated and scrapped in 1953. Photographer most likely Bill Darrough, from the Darrough Collection. Since negatives were extensively traded it's possible Bill was not the photographer. Photos from this collection have been shared with permission from Jack Darrough, obtained before he died. Please do not edit, crop, "correct" or "improve" these photos without asking me first.

SP 4314 was an ALCo 4-8-2, SP Class MT-1.
