While we were in the Reedbed hide at #Stodmarsh a Canada goose flew in with its Greylag hybrid mate. ๐ฅโ ๏ธ๐๐ #winter #wildlife
A photograph of a Kingfisher perched on a Reed waiting to dive into the adjacent lake for a fish. Against a background of golden marsh reeds on a sunny late autumn afternoon. Taken from the same location as main photograph but many months later. Not technically very good but the luck of he just flying across my sight line moments after arriving in the hide and waiting long enough for me to take a photograph felt like a gift.

A photograph of the view from a hide at a nature reserve local to me. A landscape on a very bright February day it features an expanse of water that is a principle feature that is because it reflects the sky the most beautiful blue. Aquamarine fading only to white at the horizon point. Dividing the water from the sky are reeds a pale gold in colour and a line of trees and scrub in the distance. The reeds appear to glow a little in the sun (not visible) and make the blue more blue. In the very foreground the water takes on a deeper dark blue tone and there is a post. Deliberately placed there in the hope a kingfisher will come perch for the benefit of those aiming to get a perfect shot. I am lucky enough to have had multiple opportunities to grab visitors to this watery place, imperfectly but one, as example is in the comments.

A photograph of two younger people walking away from the camera along a trail through a densely wooded area of a local reserve. One a little older and taller than the other and wearing dark clothing the other lighter shades. In the foreground the trail is bordered by more shrub like plants and in the mid and background a variety of tall trees. Some of whom grow to create almost a tunnel effect. Itโs a sunny afternoon in late September. In my head the children could be Hansel and Gretel, the Brothers Grim fairytale titular characters.

A photograph of 2 adult swans and 2 cygnets passing along a waterway at a Kent Nature Reserve. They are approaching the camera and out of view is a bridge they will pass under. The day is overcast giving the water a silver quality. Visible in the water are the reflection of trees on the banks and of course the birds. There is contrast to a point between the white of the adult swans, the grey of the maturing cygnets and the black appearance of the trees. The waterโs surface is still aside from the ripples cast by the birds movement.

Fortunately the Kingfisher flew over from the reeds to the perch and promptly caught a fish. ๐ท๐๐๐ #Stodmarsh #autumn #wildlife
Another highlight from #Stodmarsh was seeing this Grey Heron fly in with a Perch and swallow it in front of us. ๐ท๐ฅ๐๐
A lovely afternoon spent at #Stodmarsh. Fleeting views of a pair of Kingfishers, Marsh Harrier, Hobby, Snipe, Great white egret, Green & Common Sandpipers. ๐ท๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐๐

Great morning on the patch #Stodmarsh. The 2cy Red-foot I 1st discovered in the early hrs on Sunday was still present (again, early hrs) while nearby at Undertrees farm there were 2 Common Cranes at 5.00am. These seen again later over the lake just after 7.00am heading east #ukbirding #kentbirding

The Hobby is a very challenging bird to try and film with a bridge camera ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ #Stodmarsh #Spring #wildlife
We heard lots of 'booming' from the Bittern from the moment we arrived at Stodmarsh. While in the Tower hide filming the Marsh Harriers I wasn't expecting to catch the Bittern flying up to have a go at one! ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ #Spring #Stodmarsh #wildlife
A lovely day yesterday for a trip out to Stodmarsh where we watched lots of Hobbies and Swifts hunting any flying insects they could find. A few Dragonfly were about along with lots of Damselflies. ๐ท๐๐๐ #Spring #Stodmarsh #wildlife
Amazed to see 20+ Cattle Egret at the beautifully sunny Stodmarsh today, at the same site that I was very excited to see my first UK record 20+ years ago. How times change...

Coot feet are a wonderment (better for walking than the webbed feet of ducks)! Relaxed congregation of Coot at #Stodmarsh among the duckweed.
Great Crested Grebe enjoying the fishing on this #Indiansummer day.
