The "radial line motifs" aka rayed Sun symbols, or indeed probable "compound sun-eye symbols", carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" are almost identical to some scientific astronomical drawings of total solar eclipses.
Dowth's #StoneOfTheSevenSuns presents circumstantial evidence suggesting ancient people transposed beliefs inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses onto the considerably less awe-inspiring, but annual & easily predictable, "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun during #WinterSolstice sunsets & sunrises. #Eclipsology
