You might find my #Eclipsology hypothesis that the "radial line motif" #petroglyphs carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" are quite accurate depictions of the Sun surrounded by its #corona during a #TotalSolarEclipse to be quite plausible.

A significant percentage of the biomorph #geoglyphs of Peru's #NazcaLines are pictures of birds that were probably inspired by a bird-like pattern that's displayed in the Sun's corona during some #TotalSolarEclipses.

The #NazcaLines aren't unexplainable.

They've been partially explained by multiple archaeologists & other researchers.

The bird #geoglyphs are oriented to the #WinterSolstice.

A bird-like pattern is seen in the Sun's corona during some #TotalSolarEclipses.

How Did the Ancients Predict Eclipses? The Saros Cycle Before the advent of computers or even a working theory of the solar system, the ancients predicted solar eclipses. How did they do it?

One reason to build a shrine on a mountain would be to have a clear view of the horizon all around, so as to be able to see where the Sun and Moon are rising in the east and setting in the west over the course of not only a year, but 18 years. . .

The Nazca Lines and "The Eye In Sky" How Total Solar Eclipses Inspired The Nazca Lines and Geoglyphs Apparently someone liked my eclipsology "web sight" titled ' The Nazca Lines and "The Eye In Sky" ' and sub-titled 'How Total Solar Eclipses...

Thanks for your prompt response Orion.

Some of the drawings of the Tell Halaf art are comparable to the drawing of the cross-like pattern in the Sun's corona.

One of the sherds depicted in the report has rosettes aka #RayedSunSymbols depicted on it.

#SolarSymbolism is thus probable.

The flower-like Hawaiian "Cross of the Goddess Marama" on the left is very similar to an astronomical drawing of a (hypothetical) cross-like pattern in the Sun's corona on the right. The Sun's corona usually appears like a gigantic flower in the sky, and it sometimes displays a cross-like aka cruciform pattern that inspired solar cross symbols.

Could you post photos of the two ceramic sherds with polychrome flowers & the other sherds that might have palm fronds or wings depicted on them?

I might be able to clarify.

It's possible that the "flowers" & even the "wings" are #SolarSymbols inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses.

Irving Finkel is probably correct in interpreting the small flat bottomed carved stone found at Göbekli Tepe as the equivalent of an Egyptian scarab seal with hieroglyphic symbols carved into it.

The serpent may represent the #ecliptic.

The "bird" could also be a "bird foot" symbol.

The "radial line motifs" aka rayed Sun symbols, or indeed probable "compound sun-eye symbols", carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" are almost identical to some scientific astronomical drawings of total solar eclipses.

The "radial line motifs" aka rayed Sun symbols, or indeed probable "compound sun-eye symbols", carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" are almost identical to some scientific astronomical drawings of total solar eclipses.

Dowth's #StoneOfTheSevenSuns presents circumstantial evidence suggesting ancient people transposed beliefs inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses onto the considerably less awe-inspiring, but annual & easily predictable, "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun during #WinterSolstice sunsets & sunrises. #Eclipsology

My #Eclipsology research finds that #SolarEclipses, especially #TotalSolarEclipses, profoundly influenced #AncientEgyptian religious beliefs & iconography. They are central to #Egyptian beliefs about rebirth after death.

#WingedSunSymbols are inspired by a bird-like pattern displayed in the corona.

This hypothesis is interesting, but #AncientEgyptians experienced #SolarEclipses, inc. #TotalSolarEclipses, centuries earlier.
