The #NazcaLines aren't unexplainable.
They've been partially explained by multiple archaeologists & other researchers.
The bird #geoglyphs are oriented to the #WinterSolstice.

A composite photo of the July 11, 1991, total solar eclipse created by Miloslav Druckmuller reveals a white bird-like pattern in the Sun's corona. This coronal "Sun Bird" that may be seen in the sky during the awe-inspiring "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun in some total solar eclipses inspired a whole flock of mythical birds & bird gods, including the Phoenix and multiple variations thereof, and the Egyptian solar falcon god Horus. It was also perceived as a goose, swan, and heron.

A caption of a photo of one of the "radial line motifs" carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" published in TIME-LIFE book 'The Monument Builders' says, "Either the sun or an eye may be signified in this carving in a curbstone of a retaining wall that was built to protect the base of a burial mound at Dowth, County Meath, Ireland.
A line drawing of Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns".
A map of the path of totality of a Neolithic era total solar eclipse above Ireland.
An astronomical drawing of the 1851 total solar eclipse on the left compares very well with a photo of one of the "radial line motifs" carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" published in TIME-LIFE book 'The Monument Builders' which is captioned, "Either the sun or an eye may be signified in this carving in a curbstone of a retaining wall that was built to protect the base of a burial mound at Dowth, County Meath, Ireland. Total solar eclipses look very much like the pupil and iris of a disembodied "eye in the sky", so much so that even modern well-educated people, including professional astronomers, have been moved to at least metaphorically describe total solar eclipses as "the eye of God".
Regardless of whether or not the #Neolithic "passage tomb" #Newgrange interred a #prehistoric Irish king, it's passage aligned with the #WinterSolstice sunrise suggests it's concerned with the "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun. Nearby #Dowth displays 7 #TotalSolarEclipses on #TheStoneOfTheSevenSuns.
British astronomer Edward Walter Maunder discovered one of ancient Egypt's secrets in the 1880s, & I "rediscovered" his discovery that #TotalSolarEclipses inspired #WingedSunSymbols in the mid-1990s.

You may notice a similarity between this depiction of #Medusa, similar #gorgon faces, & the face in the center of the #AztecCalendar. This may not be a coincidence. Medusa & other #gorgons may have been inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses.

One has to be careful about correctly interpreting ancient depictions of flowers, because some "flowers" are actually depictions of the Sun inspired by ancient observations of the flower-like Sun surrounded by its corona during #TotalSolarEclipses.

It's not a terrible fake, but I'm pretty sure you never see solar prominences during an #AnnularEclipse, prominenes are only observable during #TotalSolarEclipses.
Also, the #Antarctica landscape appears to be illuminated by the Sun, which is clear evidence this is a composite photo if not AI BS.
My theory that the #NazcaLines, especially the biomorph #geoglyphs of birds, animals & plants etc., were an #AsAboveSoBelow response to a series of #TotalSolarEclipses above #Peru fits this idea that some monuments were "communal acts of memorialisation".

How did #TotalSolarEclipses shape beliefs about life and death, and indeed "rebirth" after death in Ancient Egypt?
I've been researching how ancient cultures responded to #eclipses, especially #TotalSolarEclipses, since 1992.
Ancient people built some structures & created #geoglyphs aka #EarthArt intended to be seen by their #SkyGods the Sun & Moon.
This structure may well have #SolarSymbolism built into it.

This "double whammy" of 2 #TotalSolarEclipses occurring above #Crete within just over 2 years would have provoked or renewed interest in #SolarEclipses, but even this gets better.

The flower-like Hawaiian "Cross of the Goddess Marama" on the left is very similar to an astronomical drawing of a (hypothetical) cross-like pattern in the Sun's corona on the right. The Sun's corona usually appears like a gigantic flower in the sky, and it sometimes displays a cross-like aka cruciform pattern that inspired solar cross symbols.
Could you post photos of the two ceramic sherds with polychrome flowers & the other sherds that might have palm fronds or wings depicted on them?
I might be able to clarify.
It's possible that the "flowers" & even the "wings" are #SolarSymbols inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses.
#Eclipsology
When I researched my intuitive flash in the early 1990s, I found a whole flock of #MythicalBirds & #BirdGods that were in all probability inspired by this bird-like pattern that's displayed in the Sun's corona during some #TotalSolarEclipses. The Egyptian "solar falcon god" #Horus being one of them.
During some #TotalSolarEclipses a bird-like pattern is perceivable in the Sun's corona. When I first noticed this "Sun Bird" I immediately intuited that it was the original source of inspiration for the #Phoenix myth. Subsequent research found a whole flock of other solar #BirdGods & #MythicalBirds.
The scientific astronomical drawing of the 1851 total solar eclipse on the left is almost identical to the rayed Sun symbol carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" on the right.
The builders of #Dowth & nearby #Newgrange transposed beliefs inspired by the awe-inspiring "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun observed during #TotalSolarEclipses onto the less dramatic, but annual & easily predictable, #WinterSolstice sunsets & sunrises.
It's all about the death & #rebirth of the Sun.
I research how ancient people responded to eclipses, especially #TotalSolarEclipses.
One of Dowth's kerbstones "The Stone of the Seven Suns" has 7 #RayedSunSymbols carved into it that are almost identical to some 19th century astronomical drawings of total solar eclipses. This suggests. . .

A #TotalSolarEclipse is the apparent "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun.
Most #TotalSolarEclipses look like a disembodied pupil & iris of an "eye of God" staring down from the sky.
Some total solar eclipses display a bird-like pattern in the corona.

There's more to #WinterSolstice alignments & related celebrations than just the annual "return of the light".
Circumstantial evidence suggests ancient people transposed beliefs inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses onto winter solstice sunsets & sunrises.

I've been researching how eclipses of the Sun & Moon, especially #TotalSolarEclipses, influenced ancient humanity's religious beliefs & iconography since the early 1990s. That includes British & Irish #prehistory, notably Stonehenge, Dowth, Knowth & Newgrange.
Can someone without a BA do a PhD?
The "radial line motifs" aka rayed Sun symbols, or indeed probable "compound sun-eye symbols", carved into Dowth's "Stone of the Seven Suns" are almost identical to some scientific astronomical drawings of total solar eclipses.
Dowth's #StoneOfTheSevenSuns presents circumstantial evidence suggesting ancient people transposed beliefs inspired by #TotalSolarEclipses onto the considerably less awe-inspiring, but annual & easily predictable, "death" & "rebirth" of the Sun during #WinterSolstice sunsets & sunrises. #Eclipsology
I remember reading accounts of 19th century #TotalSolarEclipses in which #astronomers were unsure if the corona belonged to the Sun or Moon.
I also read Edward Walter Maunder's hypothesis that a bird-like pattern in the Sun's corona inspired the #WingedSunSymbols of #AncientEgypt & #Mesopotamia.
My #Eclipsology research finds that #SolarEclipses, especially #TotalSolarEclipses, profoundly influenced #AncientEgyptian religious beliefs & iconography. They are central to #Egyptian beliefs about rebirth after death.
#WingedSunSymbols are inspired by a bird-like pattern displayed in the corona.
This hypothesis is interesting, but #AncientEgyptians experienced #SolarEclipses, inc. #TotalSolarEclipses, centuries earlier.
One cannot properly understand #AncientEgyptian religion without understanding how #eclipses inspired certain religious beliefs aka #mythology & iconography.
#Eclipsology
There's a common myth that the Sun & Moon are "making love" during #SolarEclipses.
A white bird-like pattern is displayed in the Sun's corona during some #TotalSolarEclipses.
Ancient people could, & I believe did, synthesize these 2 mythical perceptions of a #TotalSolarEclipse.
#SolarEclipseMyths
The myth of Zeus ravishing Leda in the form of a swan is probably a #SolarEclipseMyth that combines the myth that the Sun & Moon are making love during #SolarEclipses with the white bird-like pattern displayed in the Sun's corona during some #TotalSolarEclipses.
This figurine may do the same thing.
Thanks for liking my comment Laurent. I've been researching how eclipses, especially #TotalSolarEclipses, influenced ancient humanity's spiritual beliefs aka #mythology & iconography since the mid-1990s. This figurine possibly depicts a 12 millennia old #LedaAndTheSwan type of #SolarEclipse myth.
