The Coal Tit (Periparus ater) is classed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List and has a globally stable population trend. Their UK Conservation Status is Green. it consumes seeds in the colder months (it is a regular visitor to bird tables and loves sunflower hearts and peanuts) and invertebrates such as arachnids and insects in the summer. This species has a very large range across Europe, Asia and tips of Northern Africa. The coal tits main habitats include woodlands (especially coniferous and mixed) as well as parks and gardens.
