Tolkien really disliked Disney and expressly forbade even considering the possibility of his works being adapted for the screen by that studio. As for me, I'm not disgusted by Robin Hood. I look at it as a child's candy in a pretty wrapper. I admire the character designs and animation. But I will never treat this as "Holy Canon" or an "infallible classic." Are you serious? This is pure commercialism. Half the scenes with Marian are copied from Snow White. Marian has 5 fingers, then 4. And you want to tell me there's any idea in this cartoon? "Rob the rich to feed the poor" – really? And at the end, Robin himself rides away in a golden carriage, dressed in gold. A funny, stupid fairy tale. Even morality was corrupted and trampled in the finale. Tolkien was right. Incidentally, Tolkien, like me, was inspired by his wife and gave her the most beautiful roles in his stories. Just as I give Marian the life of my wife and even my daughter. They are a real motivation for me. Marian in my hands is not commercialism, she is a pure image of living love.
