Oddly patterned shattered glass, being held in place by the frame. Slightly blurred buildings are on the other side of the window.

Death of a window and the bird that flew into it.

A silver sculpture of multiple bicycle frames, aligned in such a way that it makes it difficult to focus on them. There's a tall building behind it, lit by the late day sun, and a pale blue sky above.
A closer look at the sculpture from the side.
Up close shot showing individual frames, but it's still difficult to distinguish them due to the way they are aligned.
#SundayPixDeath
This is a sculpture of bicycle frames stacked high, with multiple rows perfectly aligned. Each frame represents a bicyclist that has been killed while riding the streets of Austin. I don't recall how many frames were there.

A newly hatched adult cicada clings to its freshly molted shell that is, in turn, clinging to the side of a tree. Sunlight gleams through its new wings.

My slightly cupped hand, holding a shell filled with tiny shells. The late day sun casts a warm light.
#SundayPixDeath
An exoskeleton filled with tiny exoskeletons, also known as seashells.
I don't often think of shells as the remains of a creature; do you?

A dead stingray lies partially buried in the sand. A wave is receding, leaving smooth sand behind; the Gulf waters are frothy and grey, like the sky.
A large, reddish leaf lies on wet sand with the frothy waves of the Gulf in the distance.

Took these a few years ago after a storm blew through the area.

Brilliant podcast! We went to the live show - it was dead good.
@wombat37.bsky.social #SundayPixDeath also can include this one? For some reason it feels like the right #SundayPix category for it π€
The dead and visibly rotting stump of an old tree stands in the centre of the image, surrounded by a circle of small orange and yellow fungi. There is a little green in the form of grass and bracken at the edges of the image but the ground around the stump is brown, adding to the feel of the place being a small fairy ring.
A fallen log, old and rotting, being colonised by the same yellow/orange fungi. They are sprouting in small clusters all over the visible surfaces of the log.
From death, new life. And round and round we go. #SundayPixDeath

Two of the Fettiplace family effigies in a church. They are lying on their sides, propped up on their elbows.
Three more Fettiplace gentlemen also on their sides, each with a hand on their raised knee.

A black and white copy of Picasso's Guernica on ceramic tiles in the open air in the town of Guernica. A stone wall with red flowers at the base is on either side. There are trees and a house on the higher road behind it.
A graveyard by a white church under a brilliant blue sky. There are palmetto and deciduous trees in full leaf.

A Dutch flag (red white & blue in horizontal stripes) at half mast on a flag pole on the front of my house between two window with closed green & white awnings. A large front window is before and green leafy tree in front.
