On January 31, 2018, a total lunar eclipse occurred, known as a "Super Blue Blood Moon" because it was a supermoon, a Blue Moon, and a blood moon, all at once. With totality lasting over an hour.

Lol why have so many people taken pictures of the #SuperBlueBloodMoon on it’s own? You need to take it with a building, some trees or something in the foreground to get an idea of its scale and size - otherwise against a dark sky it just looks like the moon on any other day!

Don't fall for the #SuperBlueBloodMoon hysteria. There IS a lunar eclipse Wed but the #SuperMoon is a made-up oversell. Wed's full moon will be marginally bigger & brighter.Unless you're a regular skygazer you won't notice the difference;nothing special about a "blue moon" either
