No #ParksOnTheAir for me this #SupportYourParks weekend; too much coding to do to get out.

Looking east along a two-lane highway.
It is nighttime and there are no street lights.
In the foreground is the ham pod.
The inside the ham pod is illuminated by a computer screen, giving the pod an eerie glow.
A chair inside the pod casts a dark shadow.
The sky is only barely lighter than the surroundings, and the silhouettes of trees frame a single bright star.
The grass immediately left of the ham pod is faintly lit.

Last weekend was a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so I packed up my gear and headed out for some #POTA fun. I arrived at my chosen park around 15:30Z, and logged my first contact at 15:59Z. Ten hours later, I had 636 contacts in the log, there was no light, and I had to pack up in dark.

New #HamRadio country for me tonight! Thanks @M0TTQ for taking my call! It was kind of noisy this side of the pond, but still better than the US west coast from my QTH right now.

Got a successful activation today for the activator side of #SupportYourParks weekend. I think I might have gotten […]

Looking south across a grassy field at midday.
The field is lined with trees, which have not yet put out their springtime leaves.
At the left is the ham pod.
Some items inside the ham pod are casting shadows against the side facing us.
In the middle of the field is a red post, to which the antenna is attached.
The antenna leads away from us, toward the trees.
The antenna is held up by two yellow poles, and tied off at the trees on another red post.
The sky is partly cloudy, and the shadows are coming toward us and to the right.

This weekend is a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so I packed up my gear and headed out to the same park I've been to four times before, to see if I could perhaps earn a kilo at this park. I got there around 16:30Z, and hunted my first park at 17:08Z.

It's a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so I guess I'll be headed out to a park. Hope to get you in the log! It's also the Nebraska, Michigan, Ontario, and Quebec QSO Parties' weekend, so there should be plenty of stations on the air!

Now I just have to look up the exchanges...

Recently, I completed an amazing experience called the Rim2Rim in the Grand Canyon. Over 21 miles of hiking and over 6k in elevation gain in less than 10 hours (with stops). The GCNP is a special place to me and doing this hike was surreal!

Looking West across a grass field, all brown and ringed mostly by bare trees and a few evergreens.
The sky is cloudless and appears blue.
Near the center of the photo are the red posts and yellow poles holding the antenna.
There is a picnic table to the right.
There is a brown building in the distance.

This weekend is a #ParksOnTheAir #SupportYourParks weekend, so, despite the 20°F (-7°C) with wind chill down to 0°F (-18°C), I headed out to a park.
I decided I'd work on getting a new Kilo, so I went to the same park I activated on December 29th.

Looking South across the same grass field, all brown.
The sun is in the top-left corner, casting shadows.

At the left edge, sitting in the parking lot, is the ham pod, with table, chair, and radio box within.

Most of the trees are bare, but there are a few evergreens visible, too.
