We’re still only seeing AI being used in a micro way. The AI is in the human loop as opposed to the human being in the AI loop.
We are seeing an overwhelming number of AI assistants.
Are we going to be overloaded with them? 🤔

A prediction from @mylesrun.bsky.social that at some point we’ll be mad not to use synthetic media as it will be so good although it’s not quite there yet.
If there the tech didn’t get any better than it is today it would still be a revolutionary change.

For example in cohort learning, AI bots could check in and see how delegates are doing, provide support etc which allows this type of learning to be done at scale.
Essentially the AI is acting like a learning assistant.

David described a change in learning systems in the future. Where a system perhaps would assess an individual and use that knowledge to then provide specific coaching based on that assessment without any human involved

One thing which is interesting was using AI to roleplay a stakeholder. Prepping for conversations with them and practicing how it may go.

Vallance(?) a coaching platform came up.
QStream - for knowledge retention. Which drip feeds questions to users over specified intervals.

Interestingly, performance support is listed quite high as n/a which signals people aren’t interested in using AI for it. Peculiar given how tend to use LLMs.

How are L&D functions using AI?
Hands are going up as we’re being asked what we’re using it for. Image generation and translations seem to be popular.
Still not many using AI enabled LMSs or LXPs yet

A positive in the 41% using their internal talent marketplace though.
David points out this data highlight why it’s harder at the moment for freelancers/contractors to get work at the moment.

Here’s how L&D functions are planning on resourcing their projects in the next 12 months?
AI is being is being used more along with SMEs. They’re probably linked where AI + SMEs together are how they’re going to resource projects. Especially if resources are low.

We’re seeing a lot more process innovation than product innovation although the audience was a bit more split based on their general feeling.

The impact that AI is having on the economics on the industry is a topic that gets overlooked. It’s arriving in difficult economic times. Efficiency and savings is front and centre. If the economy was more buoyant innovation be a higher priority #LT25uk #T1S5

When everyone has similar LLM access/capabilities how do they differentiate between themselves? (Providers).
Personalisation, data and design stand out as the main differentiators.
