something interesting about the looming "end" of sessions
Human coaches can use it as advantage - AI has no time concept
#T2S2 #LT25UK
really fascinating issue of the para-social relationship people have with AI/ tech
a danger of over dependency.
When we roll out AI in orgs - think about how to check in with people who are using AI coaching
#LT25uk #T2S2
Do we need to have care and compassion and is there a risk of parasocial relationships in AI coaching.
Sam says this is really being grappled with in the industry.
Rebecca, there have been examples or students attaching with their avatars. So dangerous potentially to be dependent

What is a good AI coach?
You may need to take into consideration the data, the privacy and the guardrails required to allow the AI to do it's thing...
#LT25uk #T2S2
David shares that he is heartened to the fact that we seem open to having a combined approach. We can feel and threat as human coach we should lean in to it.
Rebecca shares that we can also improve our practice as coaches. Learn from AI in our personal and professional lives.
#T2S2 #LT25UK
A useful place to be is away from a dichotomy of AI / human coach and lean in to the potential of AI
We can use the AI to be better coaches, better humans
#T2S2 #LT25UK
the ethics of using co pilot/ note takers in your coaching session.
always with consent.
always with awareness
#T2S2 #LT25uk
How do we deal with privacy issue of people sharing in the digital space and less with the face to face coach.
David said there are examples of senior people sharing in the digital space to avoid judgement.
Rebecca says they may go their first but will always validate with human.

The threat to the coach...
Example of AI using clean language - it follows the rules perfectly - sometimes the breakthrough is in the imperfect
#LT25uk #T2S2
Rebecca says AI can detect emotion, but you do have to apply critical thinking. The new robot ‘Amika’ which expresses emotion. As a support it can be helpful but happens well in parallel.
#T2S2 #LT25UK
Emotional Detection - can AI can identify emotion in text & video. It can be better than humans at time. can be super helpful - and it can be wrong
#LT25uk #T2S2
David says current AI Coach Bot, have been wonderfully great at middle coaching sessions, the bookends, the chemistry and the contracting is as important. Including in that is working with the level of willingness of the coachee.
#T2S2 #LT25UK
AI - can be very good at "middle coaching" sessions - but the outliers aren't yet there.
If someone is unwilling or unsure....a coachbot can't do that well
or the close
#T2S2 #LT25UK
John Whitmore - Ask, don't tell
Mentor - might need lived experience - contacts etc
Coaches - might not need that to coach you.
#LT25 #T2S2
Rebecca argues that misconceptions in relation to AI Coaching are no different to general misconceptions around coaching - if you get the use case wrong there you would get the same outcome using an AI Coach.
#LT25 #T2S2
Where does AI with coaching sit? For David, It may allow the democratising of coaching for groups that can’t access it.
Rebecca says lots of scenarios where small groups only get access to coaching but use cases are now in to personal development and day to day life challenges.
the notion of democratising coaching - if you cannot pay for or access coaching - AI can offer a means to enable and access that

Sam asks the audience how many people have used AI for coaching.
About 50% have raised their hands.

ohhhhh GREAT question being thrown in in the #storytelling session: What (if anything) is the role of controversy, provocation or challenge in a narrative? #LT24UK #T2S2 Hadiya Nuriddin is for emphasizing the positive, and what you can back up.
What do you think, bluesky folks?
Storytelling session by Hadiya Nuriddin love this basic narrative as a tool to explore, to fill in the gaps, to engage people and to keep all the pieces together. Super useful. #storytelling #T2S2 #LT24UK Learning Technologies Exhibition & Conference #LearningTechnologies
