Video reflections up on @fionamcbride.bsky.social's @learningtechuk.bsky.social session in which she shared a 3-step framework to help consider our work with greater intention and clarity as part of our evolving L&D practice.

Whoops! I forgot to do this bit: @learningtechuk.bsky.social. Letting them know the recap is here. Done ✅ #T5S1 #LT25UK
Fiona and Julie sit on stage at the end of the session. Behind them is the slide showing the key questions associated with Build in the CRB Model.
And that’s a wrap. Here they are, relaxed and smiling because it’s all wrapped and done. Feeling so proud of Fi @fionamcbride.bsky.social - it was an amazing session, beautifully delivered. Well done! #T5S1 #LT25UK
And that wraps up an excellent session! Huge thanks to @fionamcbride.bsky.social and @juliedrybrough.bsky.social
Loads for me to now reflect on!

Q&A time!
When does it not work?
If you’re super stressed or not in the right mindset you may encounter some hurdles. Consider how you can change your environment or put around you to help you.
#T5S1 #LT25uk
Fi is wrapping up by reminding us that Connect, Reflect and Build is about working with intention so you act with clarity. It’s about personal growth and development. It’s ongoing. And it’s applicable wherever you are right now. #T5S1 #LT25UK
The key is about working with intention so you can act clearly. It’s about personal growth and development and an ongoing process. It’s something you can apply and is relevant right now wherever you are in your career. #T5S1 #LT25uk
Discussion around the challenge of work cultures not allowing the space for this. Being encouraged to just start ourselves and the disruptive practice can spread once you’ve made a case for it and shown the benefits to peers. If you’re a people leader it’s something you can encourage

Absolutely amazing share from the audience in @fionamcbride.bsky.social’s #LT25uk session.
Starting a meeting with a reflection from each participant on the topic of “what are the seas I’m swimming in” (worries, opportunities, concerns, wins etc).
How cool is that?!
#T5S1
Forgot to mention that after each reflection time, Fi has been going to the audience members to ask those who’d like to share, for their thoughts on the questions and what came up for them during the reflection time. And the audience have absolutely been getting involved. It’s amazing #T5S1 #LT25UK
We’re now hearing peoples’ reflections on the build phase. A theme arising around the importance of the people aspect vs the tech and our bias towards it. #T5S1 #LT25uk
I LOVE these kinds of sessions. Time to think and set intentions, ahead of a busy 48hr conference.
Only expert facilitators are brave enough to do this. Conferences don’t need cramming full of content, space is SO important.

For me I can nurture the networks I’m already a part of. I can perhaps start to look at building my network of people outside L&D who could be beneficial to my practice and consider where or how I can find these people and who or what they may do #T5S1 #LT25uk
The reflection questions for this round are centred on what needs to happen next. What do you feel drawn to act on? What do you need or want to shift? What can you nurture that is working well for you already. #T5S1 #LT25UK
A list of three prompts on a slide to aid reflection.
Some great prompts being shared to help us reflect and consider what we need to do next… we’re now being asked to reflect again on these prompts. . #T5S1 #LT25uk
Last but by no means least is the B - Build. Build is what it says on the tin, the question is what is it you want to build. There are many things - networks, knowledge, actions, capabilities, opportunities, teams, capabilities and understanding among them. #T5S1 #LT25UK
Speaker in front of build phase of model on stage
We’re now looking at the build part where you consider what action you need to take. #T5S1 #LT25uk
@juliedrybrough.bsky.social highlighting that this is a practice. It’s something you have to get used to doing and building that into what you do until it becomes the norm. Again things won’t happen by themselves folks #T5S1 #LT25uk
What am I not seeing? Perhaps I rely on tried and tested ways of growing myself or expanding my network and need to be open minded about alternatives. It’s easy to get stuck in your ways I guess… #T5S1 #LT25uk
This is a tricky one for me. I’ve tried to build reflective practice into my work but my mind is very noisy and wants to move on. I’ve got a lot to work on here! @fionamcbride.bsky.social is sharing some ideas.
Has anyone used AI as a partner for reflective practice? I might try! #T5S1 #LT25uk
Life goal. Find someone who looks at you the way @juliedrybrough.bsky.social looks at @fionamcbride.bsky.social when she’s facilitating #T5S1 #LT25uk
I’ve been to a fair few of @fionamcbride.bsky.social’s sessions over the years & this one is so on brand for her. I love how people are being given the gift of time in the session to focus on themselves. So they aren’t just being told “do this” … they are getting to do it in real time #T5S1 #LT25UK
This time around we get time to reflect and consider what we notice in that reflection time with time to focus specifically on things we are missing or not seeing in our work and voices that we might me missing or not hearing. #T5S1 #LT25UK
Reflecting helps us make links between what we’re doing and the where and how we may need to change or adapt. We’re now being given time to do some reflection, building on the time we spent thinking about the connection part earlier. What am I not seeing or missing? Are some prompts. #T5S1 #LT25uk
Reflect is next. Reflective practice is deliberate and helps us improve our understanding of the effectiveness of our work. It helps us avoid mistakes and see where things aren’t working to make adjustments. #T5S1 #LT25UK
Fiona talking through the reflect stage of her model on stage
Now we’re focusing on the Reflective practice part. Reflection is so powerful. The slide shows different ways of being reflective. I find walking helps. Anything where you can let your mind wander and get away from the screen. #T5S1 #LT25uk
We are actually getting quiet time in the session to think and start answering the questions posed which is amazing. There is absolute silence in the thinking time. You can almost hear the wheels churning. I love it because it’s making the session really real and practical. #T5S1 #LT25UK
The audience being asked for their reflections. What’s been brought up? Challenges of doing this when getting involved in the day to day and how do you take time to step back and allow yourself to do this or give ourselves permission #T5S1 #LT25uk
