Not sure why it took me so long to finally try Cafe Mogador, a long-time fixture of the East Village known for its low-key vibe & Moroccan-ish menu. But all was pleasant, including chicken b'stilla and a daily special #tagine with beef & lamb meatballs, artichoke hearts and peas.

Kawara Soba
Very unique soba noodle dish from Yamaguchi prefecture in Japan. Traditionally it is cooked on a roof tile called kawara. A hot plate is used at home recently instead of it.
