I've repaired a TI-99/4A. The video chip was failing, and it was replaced. The screen was still black, I followed the trail to the CPU that had all addresses as tri-state. I got a TMS9900 from China, removed the original, put a socket made of pin rows, and et voila! #retro #retrogaming #ti994a

A 5.25” floppy taken out of the TI-99/4A peripheral expansion box, a monstrosity for the ‘80s computer that added memory and a disk drive.
I have not loaded anything with this TI-99/4A peripheral expansion unit in twenty years, and was unaware this disk — from 1983 at the latest — was still in the drive.
And it still loads, over 40 years later! I am shocked. #ti994a #retrocomputing
