#SteveRandall TV 1.01
Now seen Olive Deering in:
#TalesOfTomorrow #1.11 "Search for the Flying Saucer" (09-Nov-51)
#Suspense #4.18 "The Spider" (15-Jan-52) & #4.29 "Black Panther" (08-Apr-52)
#OneStepBeyond #1.16 "The Burning Girl" (05-May-59)
#TheOuterLimits #1.14 "The Zanti Misfits" (30-Dec-63)
#RichardDiamond TV 4.03 cont'd.
The woman was Virginia Vincent. I'll see her as 6 separate roles in 1960s #Dragnet!
I saw her in #TalesOfTomorrow TV eps #2.26 "Another Chance" (13-Feb-53) & #2.12 "The Lost Planet" (07-Nov-52). The latter I previously declared the best TV episode of the 1950s.
#MartinKane TV 5.29 cont'd.
The old lady played by Charlott Knight has been in everything just quietly:
#LightsOut TV ep #4.15 "The Silent Supper" (03-Dec-51)
#TalesOfTomorrow TV ep # 2.07 "Substance X" (03-Oct-52)
#OneStepBeyond TV ep #2.14 "Make Me Not a Witch" (22-Dec-59).
Not my usual pin-up!
#MartinKane TV 3.31 cont'd.
I know Mary Alice Moore from #TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #1.16 "Frankenstein" (18-Jan-52) & TV ep #2.06 "Youth on Tap" (26-Sep-52).
Alas her two #LightsOut eps don't exist, one was in TV ep #1.02 "Something in the Wind" (11-Aug-46).
Jeepers 1946 TV!
Now that is early TV!!
#ManAgainstCrime TV 4.25 cont'd.
#Suspense TV ep #3.30 "Telephone Call" (20-Mar-51)
#TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #1.34 "World of Water" (23-May-52).
Darn is that it? More to come later hopefully.
I loved the chorus girls hating Marlene!
The comedy routine at the end and that pancake punchline was LOL!
#ManAgainstCrime TV 4.23 cont'd.
First studio bound ep so it was faster than all location eps.
The taxis scene was on location and boy 1952 NY taxis were huge!
I also saw Patricia Ferris in #TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #1.40 "The Duplicates" (04-Jul-52). She's really good in both but has a short IMDB.
#RockyKing TV ep 4.04 cont'd.
I saw Barbara Joyce in my #TalesOfTomorrow walkthrough and Mary Jackson in a 1960s #TheOuterLimits ep. She acted 1951-97 in 107 shows.
Det. Lane's to camera bit at the end isn't to Mabel but instead to the viewer as he explains Rocky will return from illness next week.

Since Ghostwatch I've become a fan of hoax scare shows causing national panic.
The two main radio hoaxes were Mercury Theatre "War of the Worlds" & #Escape "Zero Hour".
But this 1952 TV ep of #TalesOfTomorrow is legendary. Did TV peak in 1952?
youtu.be/FE5Ft6GS-Fs?...
#TheOuterLimits TV 2.09 cont'd.
Rabbithole #5
Same question but Radio:
#DimensionX ep #2 "With Folded Hands" (15-Apr-50)
#DimensionX ep #6 "Almost Human" (13-May-50)
#TalesOfTomorrow ep #8 "Watchbird" (19-Feb-53)
#XMinusOne ep #45 "How-2" (03-Apr-56)
#Suspense ep #915 "The Doom Machine" (04-Mar-62)
#TheOuterLimits TV 2.09 cont'd.
Rabbithole #4.
What robotics TV eps (ie not just containing robots) existed prior?
Earliest I've seen is #TalesOfTomorrow TV ep #2.31 "Read to Me, Herr Doktor" (20-Mar-53).
This similar in places TOL ep feels like the new flag bearer for exploring robotics on US TV!
#TheOuterLimits Ep 2.05 cont'd.
Robert Culp isn't my favourite actor as he has that 1950s perfect frat Yank prick look to him but he sure is a proper performer.
The tech where "wire" is used as "hard drive" hasn't been invented yet is fine, eg #TalesOfTomorrow was using "wires" 12 years previously.
#TheOuterLimits Ep 1.31 cont'd.
They tell me #TwilightZone was a massive step up in genre TV but I resisted the idea.
I gave three series of #OneStepBeyond an average of 2/5,
This first series of TOL 2.5/5,
#TalesOfTomorrow 2/5.
So Twilight Zone doesn't even have to be even good to be that step up.
I haven't done a book as most of my background research is via Google, Wiki or doing by digging online.
Some shows I've done are so niche that either a fanbase doesn't exist (eg #TimeTrax) are now all dead (eg #TalesOfTomorrow) or have their own forensic researchers I can query (e #TheWhistler).
#TheOuterLimits Ep 1.08 cont'd.
I haven't quite worked out if this show is a conservative piece that ruined #TalesOfTomorrow or has a more liberal interesting mindset. I am leaning to the latter currently.
This ep just got lost in a amusingly uninteresting romance and again irrelevant technology.
#TheOuterLImits Ep 1.01 cont'd.
If this had been a 1952 #TalesOfTomorrow ep airing live in New York I would have said it was amazing but the reality is I expect far more from a 1963 script.
Nor is this as good as a late 1940s #QuietPlease radio ep, ie the gold standard for all US anthology sci-fi.
