The warm golden light contrasts with streaks of rain falling diagonally across the scene, visible against the hazy sky. Four tall, windswept poplar trees bend slightly in the breeze, their branches whipped by the gusts. Rolling hills stretch across the background, softened by the rain, while the foreground grass glistens faintly, suggesting dampness from the passing squall.
Sitting in the sun sipping champers, this highland squall sent us scurrying inside to coze by an open fire instead.
