"ARCHIE SERIES" is in a yellow box on the upper left corner. Archie, Betty and Veronica are almost waist deep in the water, Archie and Veronica have air tanks. Veronica wears a red a white swim top and white trunked with red strip highlights. Archie is in black trunks and Betty is wearing a plaid bikini with a frill. A float with a line marking a boundary is in the foreground, a lighthouse and rocks in the background. Veronica is mad, Archie is panicked and Betty is standing in front of Archie with closed eyes and a smug smile. Veronica asks, in anger, "Archie, why are you spending so much time with Betty?: Archie responds "She's standing on my flipper!" Above the logo, Betty runs away in a huff from Archie who is wearing a mixing bowl and it's contents on his head.
I had The Maxx #1, but gave it to my brother when he started picking up the series (I thought the 1st issue was well done but not for me).
For my #TopShelfFriday I ended up with a chance to compare the Betty & Me #1 original and the recent facsimile edition.
