While there is no connection to the comic, I think of this as the spiritual successor to “The kid who collects Spider-Man” story by Roger Stern.
Please act surprised when I repurpose this as a #TopShelfFriday entry at some point in the future.
#TopShelfFriday Top Shelf Friday time!! Batman #203 and an 80 page Giant!! Classic Neal Adams cover.
#TopShelfFriday, since it was José Luis García-López's birthday yesterday, I've got Atari Force #1(1984)! I was honored to meet him and get this signed last year, truly one of the all time greats!

And the fog whispers… #TopShelfFriday! You can sometimes find this in a friendly $1 bin, but it’s one of my all-time favorite Daredevil covers. Art by David Mazzucchelli.

This week, Batman/Grendel Red Foil signed by Matt Wagner. Found at an antique shop in a stack of terrible 90's ashcans/small sized comics for $15.

The only #TopShelfFriday w/Sam Kieth is my previously posted Marvel Comics Presents. Sooo doing something unusual—the original BLOOD SYNDICATE #1! + 2 posters & trading card & original bag. (Mural poster not shown [cuz it's terrible].)

Who doesn't love a wrap-around cover.
SCREAM issue 7 from May 1984.
For context this is a UK (anthology) comic book.
Roughly A4 sized.
My #TopShelfFriday pick this week is By The Horns #1

This week, the one that started it all (again) for me: my beloved off-register FF 2 with the subscription crease. Got me back into collecting and led me to an amazing original owner collection

DC keeps cranking out these facsimile Treasury editions, and I hope they don't stop. The Superboy and Luthor story reprinted here struck me when I first read it some 50 years ago, and came flooding back when I recently re-read it. #TopShelfFriday
Marvel Comics Presents issue 85 cover by the great Sam Kieth
Love the Maxx, and began a reread late last year but had to stop as too many other back issues got in the way, will have to restart soon.
Here’s my pick for Top Shelf Friday RIP Sam Kieth #TopShelfFriday #Wolverine
Today is 125 years since Carl Barks was born. One of my favourite stories, and one of his most ludicrous plots, is The Many Faces of Magica de Spell (1964). It's a teetering, touch-and-go tower of absurdity.

In recognition of William Shatner 95th birthday last Sunday, I’ll toss this into #TopShelfFriday “ARENA”. There are nine photo covers in the GK run and this was the only issue that featured all the main players on the cover. Snagged it yesterday and now only nine issues to go to complete the series.
Betty & Me #1 (cover by Dan DeCarlo) and the recent facsimile edition side by side. Other than age and wear. The only difference is the '12 cents" pricing on the original. "ARCHIE SERIES" is in a yellow box on the upper left corner. Archie, Betty and Veronica are almost waist deep in the water, Archie and Veronica have air tanks. Veronica wears a red a white swim top and white trunked with red strip highlights. Archie is in black trunks and Betty is wearing a plaid bikini with a frill. A float with a line marking a boundary is in the foreground, a lighthouse and rocks in the background. Veronica is mad, Archie is panicked and Betty is standing in front of Archie with closed eyes and a smug smile. Veronica asks, in anger, "Archie, why are you spending so much time with Betty?: Archie responds "She's standing on my flipper!" Above the logo, Betty runs away in a huff from Archie who is wearing a mixing bowl and it's contents on his head.
I had The Maxx #1, but gave it to my brother when he started picking up the series (I thought the 1st issue was well done but not for me).
For my #TopShelfFriday I ended up with a chance to compare the Betty & Me #1 original and the recent facsimile edition.

Photo of comic cover for Tales of Suspense #32, showing a (small?) man being carried away by (or very large?) bees
Interior comic panel in Tales of Suspense #32, close up on a man’s top half of the face, very dramatically saying: “You see, I am a mutant!” (since birth)
Yes, RIP to Sam Kieth - very worthy choice this week. For #TopShelfFriday I’m going with my well read copy of Tales of Suspense 32 (1962)
Got it because it’s one of a small handful of Marvel books to mention mutants by name pre-X-Men #1

This week, RIP Sam Kieth. I only have a couple Kieth comics left in my collection, but I had all of The Maxx for quite a while. Marvel Superheroes Spring 1992 will have to suffice.

I just had my hands on a copy of DARKER IMAGE #1 one day this week, and I already can't find what box it's in, or that would have been my choice for #TopShelfFriday. One of the boxes to be graded, bagged, and tagged for the files.

Copy of Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandos #17. It's definitely a Kirby Cover (though Ayers did the interiors). And maybe the Sarge should put on a shirt if he wants to keep fighting the Axis today...
