My #researchgem was this newspaper article about a message in a bottle found when dismantling an old building in 1978. It listed the Italian #POWs who built it 34 years earlier. In #TheSecretSister, I used it as a way for Claudia to trace her father’s home in #Sicilia.

My favourite #researchtrip has to be my visit to #Sicily for #TheSecretSister. I had never been before so I was able to see it through Claudia’s eyes on her first visit. She finds answers to secrets held by her POW Sicilian father, Carlo.

The Antagonist’s strength in #TheSecretSister.
Even after his death, Fred’s cronies continue to bully Sara. She has fallen for #POW, Carlo. They beat him up preventing him from returning to camp before the curfew and daub her house with the word #whore.
Day 9 - #HistFicMay The Antagonist.
In #TheSecretSister, Sara lives at the Graig Farm with her obnoxious mother-in-law. Her husband is a bully and she's glad when he signs up for active service.
