Wellington Water to be replaced by new stand-alone entity next year Lower Hutt mayor Campbell Barry, who chairs the Wellington Water Committee, said the decision marked "a reset for water services in the region".

So, WCC is going to sell Wellington Water so they don't have to raise rates to fix the infrastructure. I would love to know how much of the rates bump would cover that. Then compare that to the new cost for water from the new company. #NZPol #WCC #ThreeWaters

If only there was some sort of centralised system that could take advantage of the economies of scale, and help the smaller councils with the huge expense of water infrastructure replacement... #ThreeWaters

Mixed reaction to Three Waters repeal by end of next week Whanganui's mayor has celebrated the scrapping of the Three Waters law, but Labour has blasted National, calling it "irresponsible".

Whanganui and Auckland Mayors assure everyone that they're pro change. Just not this change. Also, control, they want to keep control. Can't have Wellington funding and upgrading OUR infrastructure.
