Walk along kc3p to Heswall Fields. Bit damp underfoot so backed up via Tinker’s Dell and along the beach for first time in ages. Recent landslip? Knee just about coped going back up. Coffee and the usual at the Whistle Stop #Thurstaston

Photograph taken looking through the timber posts of the lychgate from the side at St Bartholomew's church, Thurstaston. Monochrome filter used. Traditional ecclesiastical shapes formed where large oak timbers meet to offer decorative flourishes on the lychgate to a church. Looking from the side out towards the trees gives an Alice in Wonderland feel of ever decreasing size. Contrast of the dark timbers with the brick base, which looks a little washed out in the monochrome version. Always something interesting to find and photograph in a church yard. Usually drawn to graves but tried something different here. Couldn't choose between colour or monochrome so the other is in the comments.

#Thurstaston to #Heswall Banks Rd and back via Wirral Way again. Not too promising initially and quite chilly. Lots of folk running which was good to see. Coffee at YOT (closed Tuesday 23rd - Friday 2nd).

Walked from #Thurstaston to YOT. Pleased to see the new path now usable. OTOH will be interesting to see how the clifftop path holds up over autumn and winter. Sky overcast but a good light for watching the ducks and waders.

Walk on the #KC3P from #Thurstaston to Banks Road for coffee at YOT. Wondering how much the path is going to cut up in the coming months. Speaking of which, intrigued by backstory to abandoned boat, one of many but unusual in being sawn in half. Saw and pot of paint visible in cabin.

Pleasant walk along the #KC3P at #Thurstaston. Large numbers of egrets in the estuary and in their tree roost. Tinkers Dell has acquired a memorial bench with a splendid view.
