Comfort shows for me are usually well-acted, slow-burn, emotional hurt/comfort type romances. BLs are shorter so good for a single afternoon in bed/on the sofa. (e.g. #ToMyStar) A couple of C-dramas I’m rewatching are #ADreamOfSplendour and #TheSwordAndBrocade. Just knowing what’s coming is helpful.

I enjoyed watching the sequel but as a high-quality drama, not in a therapeutic, comforting, warm-hug-of-a-show way. That’s why the original #ToMyStar is my choice here.

#ToMyStar is a Hwang Daseul production and so it’s beautiful with lovely feels. This was probably the first grown-up BL drama I watched (as in, not about school or college kids) and it will always have a place in my heart. The leads returned for the sequel TMS2, and I think they became friends IRL.

Day 14 of the Asian drama recs challenge is a therapy drama. I take that to mean a comfort watch show. The one I’ve rewatched over and over whenever I need a lift is the K-BL #ToMyStar. (The original not the sequel; that’s therapy drama of a very different kind!) It gives me warm fuzzies every time.

I think the first (original) #ToMyStar is lovely and sweet. It’s one of my regular comfort rewatches.
