The photographer is holding a plastic bag of cube-shaped nut clusters. Husky Tonttu eyes the bag with hungry attention, blue eyes focused, tongue out in a muzzle-open grin of anticipation. Zeena, meanwhile, investigates more exciting things under the trees on the shoreline beyond.

Hiker Jeff sits on a long flat rock rising from a rocky shoreline, eating nut clusters out of a ziplock bag. He's holding it slightly to the side, out of reach of hungry Tonttu, who is sitting very attentively at his side, head and nose pointed directly at the bag.

Zeena has now realized that food is being eaten and approaches Jeff and Tonttu from behind, eager for her share.

Jeff continues to eat his snack. Zeena has moved around to his front, mouth open in a happy grin of anticipation.

From there, it was a short trip down to the Lake Superior shoreline, a perfect spot for a break and a snack under the watchful eye of our fluffy predators.

(Don't worry! They did eventually get some snacks to nibble on too!)
